China's tea exports by category
Green tea dominates Chinese tea exports by volume — 88.11% of the 418,800 tonnes shipped in 2025 — and China's largest African markets buy almost nothing else. The remaining 11.89% is black tea, oolong, jasmine, ripe pu-erh, white tea, dark tea and other scented teas. Price per tonne runs the other way: green tea averaged USD 3,368.2 per tonne, black tea USD 5,258.0 and the specialty categories USD 6,981.9.

How this list was built
Ordered by share of China's 2025 tea export volume in customs data published by the China Tea Marketing Association (CTMA). Average prices per tonne are from Table 12 of the CCCFNA December 2025 report, which groups oolong, jasmine, white, dark and other teas as specialty tea.
